With Travel Outenza, you can bring your entire journey together in one place. Create a personalized travel itinerary, upload existing travel plans, organize tickets, save destinations, and share your plans with your travel companions.
In this step-by-step guide, we'll show you how to build your travel itinerary from scratch and turn your travel ideas into a well-organized journey.
If you're traveling with a group or joining an organized tour, chances are you've already received a travel itinerary as a PDF document. Instead of manually entering every activity, you can upload your PDF directly to Travel Outenza.
The app uses the information in your document to automatically build your travel itinerary, saving you time and making it easier to get started. Once your itinerary has been created, you can review individual activities, adjust dates and times, add information, or remove anything you don't need.
Don't have a PDF itinerary?
No problem. You can create your itinerary manually and gradually build your travel plans. Travel Outenza offers several ways to add content:
Create Manually: Build an activity from scratch.
Add from Saved Places: Use places and experiences you've previously saved.
Add Accommodation: Include a hotel or another place to stay.
Select Existing Accommodation: Add accommodation information already registered in your trip.
You can start with just one activity and expand your itinerary whenever you're ready.
Already have a PDF itinerary? Upload it and Travel Outenza builds your activities for you.
2. Create Your First Travel Activity
Let's begin with something almost every journey has in common: departure.
I personally like to start my travel itinerary with the very beginning of the trip. It gives everything a natural structure and makes it easier to plan what comes next.
In Travel Outenza, select Create Manually.
Choose your date and time
Start by selecting the date of your activity.
Next, choose the time. For this example, let's set it to 10:00 AM.
Adding accurate dates and times helps you create a more realistic travel itinerary, especially when organizing transportation, reservations, and scheduled experiences.
Add your location
Next, enter the location.
For our example, we'll use:
Oslo Airport Gardermoen, Norway
Travel Outenza uses Google Maps location information to help you find the correct place and retrieve relevant location details.
Name your activity
Now give your activity a title.
For example: Departure from Oslo Airport
You can also add an icon and a short description, such as:
Arrive at the airport, check in our luggage, and get ready for our flight to Tokyo.
Small details like these make your travel itinerary easier to understand, especially if you're traveling with others.
Creating your first travel activity with date, time and location.
3. Make Your Travel Itinerary Personal
A great travel itinerary should be more than a list of dates, addresses, and activities.
It should reflect the experiences you're looking forward to.
Travel Outenza lets you personalize individual activities with additional information.
Add photos and icons
Choose an icon that represents your activity and add an image to make it more visually appealing.
For example, an airport photo for your departure, a beautiful restaurant photo for dinner, or an image of an attraction you're planning to visit.
Choose who is participating
If you're traveling with friends, family, or your partner, you can select which travelers will participate in each activity.
This is particularly helpful when not everyone wants to follow the same schedule.
Mark your favorite experiences
Some activities deserve a little extra attention.
Maybe you've booked a special restaurant, a once-in-a-lifetime experience, or an attraction you've dreamed of visiting.
Mark the activity as a Highlight to make it stand out.
Add useful links
You can also add links to relevant websites, including ticket providers, restaurants, attractions, or booking confirmations.
Choose whether you want the link to appear directly in your itinerary.
When everything is ready, select Save.
Congratulations! Your first travel activity is now part of your itinerary.
Your activities appear in one timeline, from airport arrival to hotel check-in.
4. Build Your Itinerary One Day at a Time
You don't need to plan your entire vacation in one evening.
In fact, I think one of the most enjoyable parts of traveling is discovering new things to do while you're still planning.
Maybe you find an interesting restaurant in Tokyo, a hidden beach in Greece, or a museum you didn't even know existed.
You can gradually add these experiences as your plans develop.
I recommend starting with the essentials: departure, arrival, transportation, accommodation, and any activities you've already booked.
Then add new experiences as you discover them.
Watch your departure countdown
Travel Outenza also shows a countdown to your upcoming trip.
As your departure gets closer, you can see how many days remain before your adventure begins.
And remember, a good travel itinerary should give you structure without controlling every minute of your vacation.
Leave some room for spontaneous discoveries.
5. Turn Saved Places into Travel Experiences
Save places you discover on Instagram and Google Maps so they don’t get lost.
Finding exciting places online is easy. Remembering where you found them is another story.
Perhaps you've discovered a restaurant on Instagram, saved a museum from Google Maps, or taken a screenshot of a beautiful location.
Travel Outenza helps you keep these discoveries organized. You can save places and experiences you want to remember, creating your own collection of travel inspiration. We're also continuing to improve how saved places can be used directly in your travel itinerary.
The idea is simple: Discover it. Save it. Plan it. Experience it.
This helps turn those "We should visit this place someday" moments into real activities on your next journey.

Free to start. Save the places from this article to a trip, plan your days and share the trip with your travel companions.
6. Keep Your Tickets and Travel Documents Organized
Keep train tickets, flight tickets and booking confirmations in one place.
Once you've started building your itinerary, the next step is organizing your tickets. You probably have several travel documents already, including flight tickets, train reservations, attraction tickets, or booking confirmations.
Instead of keeping everything scattered across your emails and downloads, you can upload tickets to Travel Outenza. Select Upload and choose a PDF document or screenshot.
Travel Outenza can use the uploaded information to create a dedicated ticket entry.
You can then review the information and connect it to your travel planning where supported.
This makes it easier to find important travel details when you actually need them.
Because nobody wants to stand in front of a ticket inspector desperately searching through hundreds of emails for a QR code.
Travel tip: Always keep your original tickets and booking confirmations available as a backup.
7. Add Your Hotel and Accommodation

Have you already booked your hotel? Then this is a good time to add it to your trip.
Travel Outenza allows you to register accommodation by entering a website URL or adding the information manually.
Include the hotel name, location, booking details, and check-in dates.
Keeping accommodation information together with your itinerary makes it easier to find the details you need when arriving at your destination. This is especially useful if you're visiting several cities or staying at multiple hotels during the same trip.
You can also use accommodation information when organizing the rest of your travel activities.
8. Save Important Travel Information
Store emergency contacts and other important information for your trip.
This might not be the most exciting part of travel planning, but it could become one of the most useful.
Travel Outenza includes an Important section where you can organize essential information for your journey.
Consider adding emergency contact numbers, travel insurance information, embassy or consulate details, local emergency numbers, and contact information for the people you're traveling with.
You may also want to include useful passport-related information and other travel details.
Be careful with sensitive personal information, and avoid storing unprotected copies of identity documents unless you understand how they're secured and who can access them.
Hopefully, you'll never need most of your emergency information.
But if something unexpected happens, having important details organized can save valuable time.
9. Plan Your Trip Together

Travel planning can be even more enjoyable when you share it with the people you're traveling with. In Travel Outenza, you can invite travel companions to join your trip. This gives you a shared starting point for organizing your journey.
For example, one person might focus on accommodation and transportation, while another discovers restaurants and attractions.
You can also choose which travelers participate in individual activities.
This is particularly useful for group trips where everyone doesn't necessarily want to do the same things every day.
The goal is to make travel planning easier, more organized, and more enjoyable for everyone involved.
10. Your Journey Is Taking Shape

Your Travel Outenza journey is now beginning to take shape.
You've created your first activities, started organizing your itinerary, uploaded tickets, added accommodation, and collected useful travel information.
As your trip approaches, you can continue adding places, experiences, and new ideas.
And remember, you don't need to plan every minute.
The purpose of a travel itinerary is to make your journey easier, not take away the freedom of discovering something unexpected.
The more thoughtfully you organize your trip in Travel Outenza, the more useful your travel planner becomes.
Start with your travel dates and destinations. Add transportation, accommodation, and booked activities, then organize everything by day. Travel Outenza helps you bring these details together in a digital travel itinerary.
